Aaron Mynatt

developed an interest in engines at an early age, spending his teens racing and rebuilding motocross dirt bikes, and working in a motorcycle repair shop. In 2002, he moved to the Pacific Northwest, where he had the opportunity to apply his expertise to marine diesels and cruise ship engines, as well as expanding his carpentry skills as a shipwright.

Aaron is an avid outdoorsman, and his sense of adventure has taken him as far as paddling in Prince William Sound, Alaska. He also enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, backpacking, camping, and all-mountain free-skiing, as well as hunting and fishing. Through his winter work as a ski patroller, he is becoming certified in Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC), similar to EMT training but focused on wilderness situations.

Aaron became a partner in Northwest Navigation in 2004, contributing his talents to the restoration project. He is fascinated by anything mechanical and would love to tell you about, (and show you) the ship's engine on your next trip aboard the David B.
